In order to make a referral on the secure e-referral platform through Ocean by Cognisant you will need to sign up for your free eServices login. Prior to registering, please see the section below for some important notes to help in your registration.
This registration is free and is done through the OceanMD. It can take up to 10 days before you are registered and can start using the eReferrals Health Map.
Most of the questions are straight forward but it will ask you some questions that you may have difficulty answering. Here are some quick points on how to fill out the form:
There is a limited number of EMRs listed. These are EMRs that have integration with Ocean. If your EMR is not listed, select "Other/Non-Integrated"

While you are waiting for your Ocean’s account to go live, you can refer your patients using this link.
Refer PatientsOnce you have received your Ocean user login, you can login into the Ocean secure portal and go through the e-referral steps detailed here. Remember to search the Health Map for Ontario Naturopathic Integrative Network.
Please fill out the referral form as completely as possible to avoid delays in patient booking. Include relevant documents via secure upload to verify consent for referral and email communication and to assist in verifying the need for referral. Once you have submitted your patient referral and supporting documents you and your patient will receive confirmation of receipt via email. Your patient will be contacted by ONIN reception staff to set up a time and review costs for their appointment. Once the appointment is booked both you and your appointment will receive an email confirming the timing.

For Integrative therapy (medication) consults.
For multiple types of services in one referral there may be additional costs. Your patient will be informed about these costs prior to the consultation.
After your patient has completed their visit, they will receive treatment and/or assessment instructions. The referring provider (you) will receive a copy of the consult notes which will include the encounter note with prescribed assessments or therapies described along with any other supporting documents (e.g. delegation forms) as would be appropriate.
