Health Genetic Centre (Infectious Diseases)

DNAME Laboratory is offering DNA-based testing for chronic illnesses. In the laboratory, individual DNA tests are combined into several DNA profiles. These DNA profiles benefit patients by allowing the rapid and sensitive screening various pathogens, which potentially were the cause of these chronic illnesses. By using a combination of related DNA tests, the results of a particular profile will aid diagnostic procedures at a lower cost and provide the appropriate resources to suggest accurate treatments in a timely fashion. DNA tests, using PCR amplification, are sensitive enough to detect a few individual organisms. Positive DNA test result confirms presence of bacterial or viral pathogens in biological samples. Successful treatment can be done for most of bacterial and fungal pathogens. The laboratory is recommended to resubmit samples from previously positive patients in two weeks after treatment.
